The indictment of former President Donald Trump for attempting to overturn his losing results in the 2020 election appears to have a Texas tie: Dallas attorney Sidney Powell.
While the co-conspirators in the indictment are unnamed, “It looks like it’s Sidney Powell,” said Texas Tribune reporter James Barragán. “She does appear to be co-conspirator number three.”
Sidney Powell, a well-known figure for her vocal role in propagating allegations of election fraud during the 2020 presidential election, was known to have advocated on Trump’s behalf.
The indictment refers to an attorney who filed a Georgia lawsuit alleging election fraud the same day as Powell did. It also cites a case that was tossed out as meritless the same day as Powell’s unsuccessful case.
