Many people know the term “glamping.” It’s an endearing word combining the great outdoors with all the conveniences of home.
One great glamping option is nestled within Lake Bastrop North Shore Park. It’s about an hour’s drive from Austin.
The 182-acre park boasts a variety of activities for the outdoor enthusiast, such as a 4.5-mile hiking trail, a boat ramp and a fishing pier.
The Lower Colorado River Authority offers glamping in the park in five Airstream trailers. The interior of the Loblolly trailer is a distinct blend of retro and modern craftsmanship, with countless features to accommodate up to four guests. The Airstream provides a virtually soundproof barrier to exterior noise, and an incredible view of Lake Bastrop. The kitchen cabinets are stocked with wine glasses and an opener.
A built-in outdoor grill makes cooking easy. Guests are invited to use fresh herbs from the garden. On the campsite patio, the wrought-iron fire pit is surrounded by Adirondack chairs and stocked with wood so you don’t have to worry about collecting or bringing your own. Back inside, there’s a queen-size bed and custom window coverings to provide privacy and a restful sleep. A hidden pocket-door sections off the bedroom from the rest of the trailer, for added privacy.
If you’ve had enough of the great outdoors, shopping and art galleries a are a 10-minute drive away in Bastrop. The town is home to an eclectic selection of restaurants, stores and historical places of interest.
