Lyric Kennedy, the Grace Museum‘s digital media & project coordinator, submitted this story for the Standard’s Texas Museum Map series:

The Grace is an art and history museum whose mission is to build connections through new experiences within the evolving Texas story.

We have five art galleries, four history galleries, an interactive space for families and children called Spark, and a permanent collection with over 18,000 works of art and historical artifacts.

We curate 12 to 15 art and history exhibitions each year and are dedicated to helping make Abilene a cultural cornerstone of Texas.

The Grace is also a central hub of learning, inspiration and involvement. From Tot Spot to Grace Teens to our adult studio classes, we have monthly programs for all ages. We also host many family and adult events and are always working on new ways to bring people together.

Make sugar skulls at our Día de Los Muertos Family Festival in October, watch a dance performance at Native American Heritage Night in November, and enjoy Christmas with a beachy twist at our Holiday Shell-ebration festival in December.

We hope to see you soon.
