If you play a musical instrument, sing or even write your own songs, you might have thought about recording those tunes. If you have an Apple iPad, recordings and editing music is actually a lot easier than you might think, says tech expert, Omar Gallaga, who recently wrote about iPad music options for Wired.

Highlights from this segment:

– You can connect musical instruments, microphones or other audio gear to an iPad with either USB-c or Lightning adapters, depending on which input your iPad has.

– With GarageBand, which is free if you own an iPad, you can record and mix your own music.

– Pro musicians can use iPad apps from Avid and Apple to control the desktop versions of ProTools or Logic, both of which are professional music creation tools.
