On April 24, the Dallas City Council passed an ordinance requiring employers in the city to provide paid sick leave to their employees. Austin City Councilmember Greg Casar, who worked to get the Austin City Council to pass a similar ordinance, tweeted in celebration:
Dallas passes paid sick days!!! About 1 year ago, no cities in the South had guaranteed paid sick days. Now, three of Texas’ biggest cities have passed it. #sickofthis #txlege
