There are two primary ways to become a Texan: be born here or get here as fast as you can. This Typewriter Rodeo poem is for the newest natives.
Welcome To The World Brand New Baby Texan
We’ve been waiting for you
for oh so long
And we’re pulling out all the stops
We’ve gathered up the
perfect Texas weather
Sunny and warm
and not a hint of rain drops
We’re working on our next batch
of wildflowers
To welcome your
first
Texas
spring
We’ll sprinkle your roadways with a
Rainbow of petals
Bluebonnets in every ole thing
You sure are lucky
our new Texan friend
We’ll welcome you with all our might
For you’re one of us now
a Texan, and how
And you’ll sleep under stars big
and bright
