An investigation finds police tactics in Texas schools changed dramatically after Uvalde
After the Uvalde school shooting, Texas dramatically expanded police presence on public school campuses. A new investigation by The New York Times and San Antonio Express-News found that officers have increasingly used force in situations once handled by school administrators, including incidents involving vaping, classroom disputes and minor misconduct.

A border wall fight is emerging at one of the Southwest’s best-known pilgrimage sites
Mount Cristo Rey, a prominent religious landmark overlooking Texas, New Mexico and Mexico, may soon become part of a new border wall expansion effort. The Catholic Diocese that owns the site says the mountain is sacred ground, while federal officials are considering new construction near the base of the pilgrimage route.
